We live in a very quite part of Waialua. Next door neighbors use noise (sermons, repeated songs) as a type of aggressive behaviour. On advice of police and attorney, we’ve gotten a decible meter. I videotape meter readings. I’d like to know what the acceptable levels are and for what times.

Aloha mai, Kakou!

I hate leaf blowers. They ruin my day when I’m trying to work at home or enjoy the nice weather. For a long time, I’ve wanted to do something about them, but i realize it will take a major concerted effort. We can start with just an appeal to residents to use them less or turn down the motor speed, but ultimately, an ordinance should be passed to limit their use or their noise level. I know that banning them altogether won’t work. Hopefully, there is some type of muzzling devise that exists that can make them quieter (or maybe we can invent one?).
